Summary: The Production Associate is responsible for material handling, food production, clean up and other routine work related to food processing and manufacturing. The job also includes assisting machine operators, assemblers, shippers/receivers and other workers as required. Must be flexible to do a variety of tasks and available for shift work when required.

Responsibilities:

1. Material handling, food production, packaging, clean up and other elemental activities in processing and manufacturing.
2. Preparing, operating and sanitizing production equipment.
3. Assisting machine operators, assemblers and other workers.
4. Transporting raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant.
5. Operate forklift.
6. Packaging ingredients, and finished products.
7. Maintaining clean work areas and equipment.
8. Checking, weighing and counting materials and products.
9. Quality checks on the line as required.

• Demonstrated experience in a production/manufacturing environment a definite asset.
• Positive attitude and flexibility to take on a variety of tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality.
• Commitment to health and safety.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work shifts (morning, afternoon and possibly nights).
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of GMP and HACCP programs considered an asset.
• Knowledge of food manufacturing sanitation considered an asset.
• Food safe handling certificate considered a major asset.
• Good mechanical aptitude considered an asset.
